About Attorney Lori R. Holyfield

Attorney Lori R. Holyfield is a cum laude graduate of the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and is a member of the Memphis Bar Association and its associated Family Law Section, as well as the Association for Women Attorneys. Her primary motivator is making a difference in the lives of her clients and helping them as they move through transitions in their lives.

Ms. Holyfield holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. At Rhodes, she was recognized with several awards and scholarships, including the Cambridge Scholarship and the National Merit Award.  She also spent a summer serving the community surrounding Rhodes as a Summer Service Fellow. A lifelong resident of the Memphis metropolitan area, she graduated with honors from Bolton High School.

During law school, Ms. Holyfield served as the Senior Notes Editor of The University of Memphis Law Review and participated in the Child and Family Litigation Clinic. Her Law Review Note, One Fell Through the Cracks: Why Tennessee Needs an Initial Outpatient Commitment Statute, was published in Volume 42 of The University of Memphis Law Review.  She was honored to receive multiple awards and distinctions, including the Law Review Award for Excellence in Legal Writing; two Dean’s Awards for Excellence (Best Legal Brief and Best Legal Memorandum); and CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Torts, Income Taxation, and National Security Law. She was also acknowledged in Who’s Who Among America’s College and Universities and selected to membership in the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. In recognition of her academic achievement, she further received the Lawyers’ Association for Women Scholarship, the Memphis Access and Diversity Law Scholarship, the Phi Kappa Phi Graduate Scholarship, and the Humphreys Fellowship.

She believes life is a gift of uncertain duration and should be lived in an unregrettable fashion. She is happily married, has three children, is active in her church, and enjoys spending her free time with the people she loves.

Lori R. Holyfield focuses her practice in divorce and family law and serves Shelby, Tipton, and Fayette Counties in southwest Tennessee.
